naked 3 tutorial

For Christmas this year I was absolutely ecstatic when I received the Urban Decay Naked 3 Eye Shadow Palette. I already own the first two & to be quite honest, haven't been all that impressed with them. I tend to like darker eye shadow colors and I felt like the first two were not as dark as I'm used to. Therefore when number 3 came out, I knew I had to have it!
So I was a little disappointed when I started googling tutorials for this new palette and there were hardly none out there. Therefore, I decided that I would do a tutorial for my favorite colors using the Naked 3 Palette.
I have never done a tutorial before, therefore I am not very good at it. But anyways, here is my naked 3 palette, just to show you. I am not a professional make-up artist and will never claim to be one. No one has ever really taught me how to do make-up except for my mom, so I could be doing everything completely wrong. Therefore you don't have to follow my exact steps, but this is just a general idea of how I like to use my new eye shadow.

So first here are my eyes, completely bare, with an exception of my foundation. (yes I am aware of how horrible my eyebrows are, I am in a desperate need of an eyebrow wax)

But first I wanted to mention, whenever I do my own eyeshadow I very rarely ever use a brush. I almost always use my fingers. I know that's different than most tutorials but that's how I find my eyeshadow to show up the best and blend together the best.

So I start off with the color named Strange, shown above. I apply it all over my eyelids, as you can see in the picture below.

Then next, I use Dust and only apply it near the top of my eyelid, especially below my eye brows (shown below). I also like to use quite a bit to make sure that your eyelid is all pretty and sparkly:
Next, I only use the last colors on the Naked Palette, except for Blackheart, but you could use this color if you wanted to add more darkness to your outer lids.

Next, I use the color Liar and apply it all over my bottom lids, as you can see in this picture below.

Then I take the color Factory and apply it directly above where I applied Liar. I make sure to stop a little below my upper lids. I still want Dust to be visible.

After I've applied Factory, last I use the color Darkside. I make sure to only apply it to my outer lids, kind of giving them a smokey eye look. This is also where you could use Blackheart if you wanted to make your eyes more dark. After I've applied Darkside to my outer lids, I use my finger to just kind of blend the color across the crease of my eye lid, as you can see in the picture below.

Then finally you can finish your eyes off with your own eye liner and mascara.
So here is a picture of what my eyes look like after my make-up is finished!

I really hope this tutorial makes sense to you all and that it may come in handy someday if you aren't sure exactly what colors to use, & especially if you have brown eyes like I do! This is a basic, very simple tutorial that I feel that many people would be able to do without having to have much knowledge of how to apply eye shadow, because I promise you that I don't. If you have any questions about this tutorial feel free to leave me a comment!
Thanks so much for viewing!

First blog post, ever.

So I am completely new to the world of blogging, but I have been dying to create one for quite some time. I love to write and sometimes I need a place to put my thoughts, so thats why I am here!
First, you all are probably wondering what my name is about, so I'll give you a peek:
Yup, I literally live in the boonies! My house is surrounded by woods on all sides, oh and sorry for such ugly, gloomy photos. That is today's weather, although I really was hoping for snow! If I actually felt like putting on a coat I would have walked in the yard & took a picture of our house, maybe another post :) But, living in the boonies has its perks and its negatives. On days like today, where my husband is at work & I am on Christmas break from school, I get rather bored, which obviously is what led me to get a blog. I enjoy being up on a mountain where the coyotes are louder than my alarm clock and bears think they own your yard, and its okay with me on most days. I was born and raised in the country and I think thats where I will always stay!
Well, my first post was definitely boring but I had to start somewhere. Therefore I will leave you with this, one of my favorite quotes ever.
